This digital non-contact infrared thermometer has 3 settings, body temp, air temp, and object temp. For medical purposes you use the body temp mode. It sounds an audible alarm for any temp over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. It has a backlit screen, green for a normal temp reading, amber for elevated and red for high temp reading.

To use simply wipe hair and access sweat off the subjects forehead, point towards the forehead and hold about 3-5 cm away. Squeeze the trigger and hold until it beeps. Reading will appear on the screen and backlight will indicate temperature reading. Green is normal, amber is elevated, and red is high. An alarm will sound for any temperature over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
